sometimes things have to end
It was a good run and served its original purpose of promoting Atlantic City. However, it’s time to let it die.

BBC NEWS | Technology | Call for blogging code of conduct

BBC NEWS Technology Call for blogging code of conduct

ah I can see it now

A BBC blogging code of conduct.
Number 1—trash Israel
Number 2-- say only good things about whoever is leading the other side
Number 3 repeat 24-7 on all you different outlets
And then when someone calls you on it—blame it on the Jewish Lobby
|
but the media isn’t biased!!
The NBC nightly news spent minutes covering the democrat bills on the time line. However, they refused to even mention the word—pork. The closest they came was that the bill was for 120 billion.
Hey nothing to see here –the president would only veto the bill because of the timeline.

It amazes me these people have no clue as to why the number of viewers continues to fall.

Signs up, speed limit down

no offence meant but

This isn’t going to work well. Goober will continue to drive his speed, tailgate and change lanes for no apparent reason except that Bobby, Donnie and Red were from there.

Las Vegas SUN: Edwards' Saga Shows 'New Face' of Cancer

Las Vegas SUN: Edwards' Saga Shows 'New Face' of Cancer

why I have grown to dislike the MSM
I know they are public figures but not every person in the public eye has to be a symbol. Let her alone—the woman has cancer and it came back. She doesn’t have to be the media darling, the new face of the disease or the face of one bravely fighting the battle.
It appears the media can only understand archetypes and icons. It is like they can only comprehend a thin veneer of any subject. No wonder they so easily by the straw men put forward by politicians they are incapable of thinking deeper.

My Way News - Chinese Restaurant Food Draws Criticism

My Way News - Chinese Restaurant Food Draws Criticism

how do they keep doing it?
The center for science in the public interest, that is. Remember them they are the folks that keep telling you Chinese food is evil as is movie popcorn. They are cally a left wing, anti corporation group. My concern is how they always get press like this. How come the media always present what they have to say as if it’s independent research without an agenda?
What really surprises me is they had a similar report a few years ago. This report indicated they were surprised that the Chinese food wasn’t healthier. What !?!?!? Are they stupid????? Look at the food it isn’t that healthy but only a fool or someone with a viewpoint would pretend it was.

'We want this baby polar bear dead' say animal rights lobby the Daily Mail

I know there must be one who isn’t

This just proves my point.

don’t you just love a good bureaucracy?

The deadlines are almost here for our end of the year reports. These cover our activities until the end of May—yep they are due today and tomorrow. The really cool thing is that we now have new software to speed up this process and that only meant things were due two weeks earlier than usual.

Las Vegas SUN: Conservative Episcopal Bishop Rejected

This really bothers me

Let me give you the background—when the diocese of New Hampshire decided to elect a gay bishop most bishops including mine said as long as the process was OK then the diocese had a right to elect whoever it wanted. Now the presiding bishop has invalidated the election of the diocese of South Carolina—looks like mainly because he was too conservative although she is saying the diocese failed to give proper notice. We shall see however, if this is the direction of the church I might not be able to stay. I actually support the ordination of gays but will not remain part of a church where dissent is not tolerated.

FOX Sports - COLLEGE BASKETBALL - Scores

FOX Sports - COLLEGE BASKETBALL - Scores
I love the NIT
Mainly because it gives the talking sports heads a chance to be fools. Monday all I heard on sports TV was how it was unthinkable that Drexel wasn’t in the NCAA. They were second only to Syracuse in the
Well what happened? Drexel played NC State last night at home even and they lost. I listened to some shows this morning and they barely game the score much less admitted the team they “knew” should have been in the NCAA actually lost to state.
My only hope is that the “Cuse’ will lose tonight so all the complainers will shut up.

Minister protests same-sex union ban with a halt to all weddings - Boston.com

this guy is an ass
and I would not work with or for him. To protest the Episcopal church stand on same sex unions this guy isn’t going to perform any straight weddings.
I’m a deacon in the church and under the direction of my bishop am assigned to a parish under the direction of a priest. I would not take this assignment.

FOX Sports - COLLEGE BASKETBALL - 2007 Hoops Hysteria - Brackets Index

FOX Sports - COLLEGE BASKETBALL - 2007 Hoops Hysteria - Brackets Index

please Lord help us all
March madness is here but first we have the annual attack of the whining Yankees. I know they have a stereotype of us in the south but I also have one of them. It’s non-stop, wall to wall whining and complaining and nothing brings this out like basketball. The round ball Yankees seem to think that every team in the northeast deserves to get into the NCAA field.
Please just make the whining stop.

wbztv.com - Obama Had Oustanding Parking Tickets At Harvard

wbztv.com - Obama Had Oustanding Parking Tickets At Harvard

not a big deal
Not even a little deal.
On the way in to work this morning I was listening to a conservative talk show host making something of this—it speaks to character. No!! It speaks to parking on a college campus. Especially one with limited space.
So pundits back off—my guess is the last time you were on a campus was as a speaker and someone drove you and had a reserved space.
Also with more and more computers now he would not have graduated or been allowed to register for the last semester I bet. Until they were paid that is.

I’m sleepy now
But the Three must go on.

Like a feather pillow—mainly because they can shape shift. I ball them up into any shape and size I need.
Not as firm as the hard hard ground but close—I hate a really soft mattress; on last week’s trip the hotel had some sort of soft pillow top—I felt trapped.
Cold with lots of quilts/comforters/blankets.

Las Vegas SUN: Winemaker Ernest Gallo Dies at Age 97

Las Vegas SUN: Winemaker Ernest Gallo Dies at Age 97

the wine snobs probably don’t care
But to the rest of us he was probably our introduction to wine. The company has been a success and did much to popularize wine in America. In fact they still make some things I like.
A wine-snob I’m not. I enjoy a really good bottle but I also have peasant tastes and the cheap stuff tastes fine.

Ernest rest in peace and I’m a have a glass for you tomorrow night.

John Belushi, 25 years gone - CNN.com

John Belushi, 25 years gone - CNN.com

I don’t want to be cruel or uncaring here but

Let’s get this straight—he wasn’t that funny. He had a couple of bits and that was it. Even if you think the pinnacle of humor is falling down, making a stupid face or spitting water then he wasn’t even the best at that.

Las Vegas SUN: N.J. to Consider .50-Caliber Gun Ban

I’m not a gun control guy but I might agree with this one

This is a difficult issue for the pro gun crowd. On one hand they know the proponents want everything controlled or outlawed. On the other hand you tend to look really foolish when you try and defend 50 caliber weapons for civilians. Why not defend RPG’s and grenades?

Big Gun - CollegeHumor video
you call that a gun--Now this is a gun!!!

Blocking and bumping are part of racing but not usually with your teammate. I really wonder how this is going to change the team and any collaboration they had going. Looks like ol’ Juan has learned all the lessons he needs.

My Way News - Ala. School Warned Hours Before Tornado

My Way News - Ala. School Warned Hours Before Tornado

fools and reporters
Sometimes they are the same people and usually that is the case. In other times the fool reporters talk to fools from town. Someone in enterprise thinks the school was warned hours earlier. Warned of what??? If a school in Alabama was let out every time there was a watch then March and April would not exist.
Also where do you send students? The parking lot perhaps? Let them ride around town—does this crack reporter [or reporter on crack] think all these students would have gone home and hid in a first floor room?

You expect schools to be safe, you don’t let people go early without a reason and it was a freak that the school was a direct hit.

Basically another reporter shooting off his mouth and wanting to blame—blame blame. It has gotten to the point where the press is nothing but a bunch of self righteous second guessers.

It’s Not Only About Price at Wal-Mart - New York Times

It’s Not Only About Price at Wal-Mart - New York Times

interesting marketing stuff from Wal-Mart
The classification of their customers is interesting. We all knew they had to change and advance as people became more affluent but how was the challenge. Do you fit into one of these or do you avoid the place. My wife doesn’t like the shopping experience but has nothing against the company. I do work with some people who feel Wal-Mart is terrible and an exploiter of people. Yep providing jobs and low pieces is exploitive.
Those of you who must have things like “artisan” light bulbs and the like should just stay away. Those things are best bought in small stores with really really high prices—like where everyone should shop.

a real international Thursday three

Fall is my favorite season. I link the weather, the colors and the holidays of the season. It’s also prime time for football.
I gave it some thought since I work in a somewhat PC environment. However, Terry helped me see the benefits of being up front—mostly honesty on my part.
I don’t mind discussing religion, politics or sex. However, I do mind that the pundits seem to be way too interested in the convergence of the three.
